My go-to offerings beyond bread and water for Bast have always been honey, whiskey, chocolate, and oranges (or combinations of them), but every so often She asks for apricot things!
Afaik there's no historic precedence for this, but I know it's Her because when I offer them, no one else wants them!

What kind of alcohol would the AOT characters drink?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eren, Armin, Mikasa, Jean, Connie, Sasha, Reiner, Annie, Bertholdt. (Part 1?)
TW: Alcohol is harmful to your health!
Tumblr media
Eren: This fool is definitely insane, because he would drink gin. It doesn't matter in what form, cocktail, tonic, in its pure form. His passion is gin. Its excessive bitterness, coniferous aroma and notes of juniper with spices excite his receptors, which is why he loves this drink. (Fanfact, I hate gin, the nastiest alcohol after absinthe)
Armin: something light, like apple cider, wine or light beer, maybe even alcohol-free. He definitely does not tolerate alcohol well, so guys try not to pour this guy, because he always forgets his measure and gets drunk quickly, which is why he does rash things.
Mikasa: definitely an expensive dry red wine for meat and cheese. She likes to arrange such gatherings with Annie and Sasha, discussing what interesting things have happened these days, and what kind of fools their friends and boyfriends are. Mikasa personally goes to buy cheeses, camembert, brie, Cheddar, parmesan, maasdam, although she and Sasha mostly eat all the cheese.
Jean: Mmmm... everything? Depends on which company he's in. If he’s with guys, he doesn’t want to miss one other can of beer. In a restaurant with his woman? A couple of glasses of wine or a glass of single malt whiskey. In some interesting bar? He will definitely try some interesting unusual cocktail. Did he want to drink alone? He'll sit in the kitchen with the most normal whiskey he could find in the nearest store. But he definitely won't take something cheap.
Connie: Tequila and beer. Or ruff (a mixture of beer and vodka). This guy will definitely become addicted to alcohol as soon as he gets access to it, although he will be very upset when his mother finds him drunk and will be depressed by it herself. After that, he never came home drunk, and tried to stay with someone else. Because he drank well, and not always just for promotion. Vodka before beer sounds good, right?
Sasha: light beer and tinctures that her father taught her to make. Currant, raspberry, melon, cactus, cranberry, apricot, in general, everything that she found delicious, she tried to make tinctures, and they really came out cool and delicious. She brings her schmurdyak to girly gatherings, although in the end she also drinks wine, which she does not like at all.
Rainer: vodka or cognac. Sometimes he gets in the mood when he wants to get drunk, and he does it quickly and does not sit idly by. Even when he's with the guys, and everyone just brings beer, Rainer specially buys something stronger for himself separately (as a result, he has to share with those who ask, because they want something "more interesting and stronger").
Annie: she mostly drinks dry red wine with Mikasa, although she prefers some cocktails more, for example juice with vodka, or something fruity with syrups, like sex on the beach (and she vehemently denies that she loves this cocktail, although she is ready to drink a few if she has the opportunity).
Berthold: he drinks rarely and little, because he believes that it is pointless, because because of his large physique, and therefore his large weight, it is very difficult for him to feel the influence of alcohol, which is why he does not like it. He'll try a can of beer, and that's enough for him to realize that it's not interesting at all. But then he helps Rainer, who can sometimes overdo it.

Hamburger Festival Report!
There's a pretty standard template for American town festivals: You block off a few streets (unless there's a park or something that makes sense to use instead), and rent spaces for people/organizations/businesses to set up booths. There'll be a stage or two with free entertainment--usually musicians, but there can be dance troupes, magicians, etc. in the mix. There may be some activities or contests tied into the festival theme, but the main events are a) eating, and b) wandering around looking at booths.
Tumblr media
Sometimes this type of festival will have a carnival or midway attached to it, with rides and games, but these are not a required element of the standard American town festival. This one had a rock-climbing wall and a mechanical bull, interspersed with the typical booths, but that's it.
Tumblr media
These festivals do not have to have a theme--where I grew up, it was just the TownName Street Fair--but a lot of them do. Food is the most common type of theme: you get Apple Festivals, Seafood Festivals, Tomato Festivals, Maple Syrup Festivals, all sorts. Something to do with local history and heritage is also common, like Old Time TownName Days. The amount of emphasis placed on the theme varies.
Tumblr media
Since hamburgers are already a typical food to sell at festivals, they were very heavily represented at Hamburger Festival! The festival guide listed over forty different hamburger stands. I went around and took pictures of the menus for the ones that looked good, before deciding what to buy.
Tumblr media
@griseldagimpel I think these two are probably the most innovative ones I saw!
There were some professional food trucks:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That second one had some interesting-looking options, too.
Tumblr media
Here's another menu with some interesting options; this was one of a handful of stands offering a vegetarian burger option. (That Elvis one looks pretty innovative, too.)
Tumblr media
There were a few stands offering the hamburger-with-a-crabcake-on-top, which sounded interesting, too.
Or if you just want a classic hamburger at a reasonable price, you could go with the stand run by the Boy Scouts:
Tumblr media
Their burgers started at $5, and smelled pretty good!
Alcohol availability at town festivals varies regionally; in some parts of the US, it's considered inappropriate for alcohol (even beer) to be sold or consumed at events attended by families with children. Pennsylvania (where I live, and where Hamburg, PA is) used to be one of these, but our alcohol laws have been relaxing quite a bit over the last 10-15 years or so. As a result, Hamburger Festival does have beer and wine vendors.
Tumblr media
However, they are limited to a fenced-off portion of the festival area, and if you buy a cup of beer you have to stay inside the fence to drink it. (Some of the vendors also offered discreetly-packaged bottles and cans to take home, but you are not allowed to open them on the premises.)
Tumblr media
Of course, all of the food vendors are outside of the fence, so if you want to have a beer and a hamburger simultaneously, you have to buy the burger first, and take it into the Designated Beer Area.
Tumblr media
This I did; I went with the Brie and Apricot Jam one, and a cranberry-ginger hard cider. (My other top choice for the burger was the Heavenly Hog one, with the apple slaw.) Both were excellent!
Band playing in the Beer Area:
Tumblr media
They also wisely placed the Great PortaPotty Cluster adjacent to the Beer Area:
Tumblr media
Back outside of the Sin Zone, vendors include classic fair food:
Tumblr media
And church bake sales:
Tumblr media
Nonfood vendors include crafters/artisans, like this metalworker:
Tumblr media
The Starship Enterprise was like $500, so I didn't buy it.
Tumblr media
There are also crafters selling items with, uh, lower production values, and lower price points. There were a couple of booths selling 3-D printed fidget toys. I considered this polar bear, because it almost looks like Autism Creature:
Tumblr media
But in the end I went with something else, which I will share a little later.
They also this, a version of the betta-in-a-cup that won't make @kaxen mad:
Tumblr media
Pictured: The only kind of fish you should keep in such a tiny container!
Also represented were various kinds of MLM schlock:
Tumblr media
Like this CutCo Knives stand; there was also a Pampered Chef one, several of the jewelry ones, and the one that does dip mixes and stuff; it isn't Taste of Home (that's a magazine), but it's something like that.
Tumblr media
I did buy some seasoning mixes, but I got them from this decidedly more amateurish-looking (and cheaper) place, which also sold soap.
Tumblr media
Another performance space; this one had a bluegrass trio that was actually pretty good.
Here a child had a stand selling 3D printed gizmos:
Tumblr media
Where I obtained this treasure:
Tumblr media
Her mother, it developed, had been highly skeptical that anyone would want to buy these, but I assured her that it was brilliant, and my favorite purchase of the day.
Tumblr media
I also got take-home cider, the aforementioned spices and soap, some tea, and alpaca-fiber insoles. (My feet were sore, by that point.)
Another interesting thing, which I did not take any pictures of, is the evidence of widely-varying attitudes toward the festival, by the people who actually live on the streets where it takes place. The people behind the stand where I bought my brie-and-apricot burger had festooned their knee-high garden wall with wire and signs saying DO NOT SIT ON WALL, because, I guess, that harms them in some way, if someone does that. Other residents were having porch-parties to watch the festival, or were manning coolers of sodas and bottled water, usually for a dollar apiece (with this competition, most of the official vendors were also selling water and sodas for a dollar, but I bought from one of the porches anyway).
Anyway, to sum up, it was kind of neat; I don't necessarily have a burning desire to go again (although I would like to try that burger with the apple slaw), but I'd also be willing to go again. I spent way too much money on crap, but it's no fun going to something like that and not buying stuff.

what do they eat at the castle?
Thank you for the ask! Vesna and Snježa eat better than most of the other servants, so they occasionally have white bread (especially Brezen for lent) and other treats. The most common food is pottage, and most days there's brown or oat bread at the castle. Swarzctannperg has a kitchen with several dedicated servants, a brewery, a butcher, and a buttery. It's a pretty remote castle and most of the lords land is Forst, used for lumber, so there's slightly more game in the diet than might be usual. Meat is eaten much more rarely than today, the bulk of (non fish) meat consumption is domestic fowl and pigs, though there are 112 fast days in the year where no one eats animal products other than fish.
The castle's remoteness means they have less access to sugar, muskat, cinnamon etc than might be usual, but food is still seasoned with salt, wine, vinegar, herbs and honey. When meat is served it might often be sweetened in ways we wouldn't like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The castle is surrounded by orchards and small goat pastures. There's plenty of apples and pears year round, and apricots in summer. The castle buttery makes butter and cheeses from mostly cow and goat milk.
Wine, beer and cider (specifically Most) are produced locally, both by a nearby nunnery and on site. The region is colder at this point than it is now, but growing wine is perfectly possible; It's probably not great though, since properly aging it isn't commonplace here yet. The lord and his family drink that almost daily, the other drinks already being seen as somewhat lower class. There's a spring that provides fresh water near the castle, but a lot of people, including children, drink Dünnbier as their main source of hydration, a very thin watered down beer.
The lord's peasants eat less well. Famine isn't a huge problem, but the hills aren't great arable land and a lot isn't properly cleared for pasture either. Peasants (most here are Leibegene, comp. Serfs, and forced to labour a certain amount in their lord's fields or forests - if they own land themselves, they are also obligated to pay part of their produce) aren't allowed to mill their own corn either, so they rely on much worse bread depending on what they can afford; many might have to mix their flour with ground bark and acorns, especially in winter. Vesna is only tangentially aware of this, however.

I'm not sure if you know much about Steven Universe but...Diamond au?
Alma is basically white diamond (The supreme Diamond basically), or should I say, Magenta diamond?
Pepa is obviously yellow diamond, Julieta is blue diamond, and Bruno is green diamond.
The grandkids are kind of...young diamonds? (I know in the show it's canon that Diamonds and crystal gems don't age but I'm switching things around for fun.)
So, young Diamonds are typically minded from underground places and it's extremely rare to find one and even rarer to find six.
(So, in the ground they're technically like babies in stone. There's no certain way of knowing when a Diamond will be born so you kinda just have to...wait.)
Isabela was born first, then Dolores. 2000 years later, Luisa was born. 4000 years later, came Camilo and then Mirabel. 10,000 years later, came Antonio.
Like in your Giant siren au, the diamond madrigal adults & teens are huge with Antonio being the smallest. But he's just as tall as the average adult.
Roles -
Magenta (Alma) is the leader and in charge of establishing Gemkind's identity. Yellow, Green, and Blue, holding second-tier status, oversee Home world's military and culture respectively. The grandkids are charge of throwing celebrations for the achievements of the other Diamonds.
In this au the adults aren't addressed as mama/Tia/Tio/Abuela they are just addressed as their colors. Same for the grandchildren-
Isabela = Violet
Dolores = Red
Luisa = Purple
Camilo = Gold
Mirabel = Teal
Antonio = Bronze, cider, Mikado, or apricot (I'm not sure which one to choose from.)
The husbands in this Au are pearls. And yes, they still love their big wives.
Pedro = Sandstone (color) pearl
Agustin = Oxford blue pearl
Felix = Honey Pearl
Are the grand-diamonds spoiled? Yes, they were cute as diamond-lings so how could the older diamonds not spoil them? Are the grand-diamonds still sweet? Also, yes.
That's all I've got for now.
I think the way the “children" are determined by like?? Which couple digs up the lil Diamond. Dunno 🤓
Pedro might be cracked???
Gave them actual diamond cuts 🤭 if you have more go ahead and hand it over (even tho I know nothing abt su)
Tumblr media
ALSO!!! I LOVE WHEN THE MADRIGALS ARE BIG AND ARE BIG OB SMALLER MADRIGALS❗❗❗🤓 My favs, one of my favorite aspects about Giant Siren <33
